Introduction

Menos App LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Menos mobile application and the website menosapp.com. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, what other people can see, and how you can delete it.

By using Menos, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Our Promises

We never sell your personal information. We do not show ads, we do not track you across other companies' apps and websites, and we never sell or share health or fitness data. Data in Apple Health stays on your device and never reaches our servers. The service providers listed below process data only to run Menos for us.

Information We Collect

When you create an account and use Menos, we collect the following information:

• Account information: your Sign in with Apple identifier, your name and your email address, as Apple provides them to us. If you choose to hide your email, Apple gives us a private relay address instead.
• User ID: the account ID Menos assigns to you, and your display name and friend code.
• Profile and setup information: age, sex, weight, and height, plus the goal, experience, equipment, training schedule, and any injury areas you choose during setup. Injury areas are health-related information. We use them only to choose and adjust exercises in the app.
• Workout and fitness data: exercises performed, sets, reps, weight lifted, effort feedback, session history, personal records, and any history you import from Hevy or Strong. Duels use your bodyweight for scoring.
• Apple Watch: sets you log on Apple Watch are sent to the Menos app on your paired iPhone, which saves them the same way as sets logged on the phone. The watch app does not send anything to our servers on its own.
• Game and social data: your heroes, XP, levels, streaks, goal bosses and cosmetics; your friends list; your display name, hero and sessions in the parties and duels you join; the guilds you create or join (guild name, members, contributions and raid trophies); the tournaments you host or enter (tournament name, bracket and results); your Hall of Lifters entry if you are on the Hall; and your Founder status.
• Product interaction: how you use the app, such as when you finish workouts, how often you train, and which features you use (for example parties, duels, guilds, tournaments and goal bosses). We use it to run the app and for our own first-party usage counts. No third-party analytics tool receives it.
• Sign-up source: your answer to "How did you find Menos?" during setup and, if you joined through someone's invite link or code, that person's name. It is linked to your account, and we use it for analytics only, to learn how people find Menos. It is also sent to our private team channel (see Discord below).
• Sharing choices: whether you have joined the Hall of Lifters and whether you have agreed to post your finished workouts to the public Menos Discord server.
• Reports and blocks: reports you file about another player, including the reason you write, reports filed about you, and the players you block.
• Feedback: the text you send through in-app feedback and the part of the app you sent it from.
• Notifications: your Apple Push Notification service (APNs) token and your notification and reminder preferences.
• Settings: your weight unit (lb or kg) and other app settings.
• Terms acceptance: the version of the Terms of Service you accepted and when.
• Invites and referrals: which invite or referral link or code brought you to Menos, and whether the accounts you referred finished their first workouts. This decides referral rewards.
• Purchases: your subscription and purchase history: whether you hold Menos Full, how you got it (subscription, Founder status or referral reward), your Menos Full subscription status (plan, free trial, renewal date, expiry date and whether it will renew), and any legacy Menos Pro subscription status, together with your RevenueCat customer ID and transaction records from Apple and RevenueCat. We never receive payment card data.
• Crash data and diagnostics: crash reports collected by Firebase Crashlytics, which include the device model, operating system version, app version, the stack trace, and device state at the time of the crash, such as free memory and disk space.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

Menos works with Apple Health only if you turn it on in the Settings tab of the app and allow it on Apple's permission screen. It is off until you do.

• What Menos writes to Apple Health: your finished workouts and the active energy (calories) they burned. With Apple Watch the calories are measured during the workout; on iPhone alone Menos estimates them.
• What Menos reads from Apple Health: on Apple Watch, your heart rate during a workout, only to measure the calories burned. Menos does not read any other Health data.

Health data stays on your device. It is never sent to Menos servers, never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties.

You can turn Apple Health off at any time in the Settings tab of the app, or in the Health app, where you can switch off each kind of data Menos may read or write. Workouts and calories already saved to Apple Health stay there until you delete them in the Health app.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the service: build your plan, track your workouts, calculate your next weights, run parties, duels, guilds, tournaments and the Hall of Lifters, show your training history, unlock what you have bought, and export your workouts when you ask.
• Send notifications you ask for: such as party invites and reminders.
• Keep the community safe: check display names, guild names and tournament names against a blocklist, review reports, enforce our Terms, and hide players you block.
• Run referrals: credit invites and unlock rewards under the rules in our Terms.
• Understand how Menos is used: first-party counts of sign-up sources and feature use. We do not use this for advertising.
• Run the team alerts: send the private team notifications described below.
• Keep the app working: find and fix crashes, secure the service, and manage your account.

What Other People Can See

• Hall of Lifters: if you join, other lifters see your display name, hero class, level, XP, streak, and, if you have them, your Founder crest, cosmetics and gold name. Accounts created on or after October 8, 2026 are only on the Hall if they say yes when the app asks. Accounts created before October 8, 2026 were added to the Hall when they signed up. They stay on it until they answer the in-app question or turn it off in the Settings tab. You can leave the Hall at any time in the app. The top 100 on the Hall (display name, hero and its avatar, level, XP and streak) are also shown in the #leaderboard channel of the public Menos Discord server, where anyone in that server can see them. That board refreshes every 10 minutes, so leaving the Hall takes you off it at the next refresh.
• Parties and duels: the members of a party or duel you join see your display name, hero and session in it. In a duel, your opponent can see your bodyweight.
• Guilds and tournaments: the members of a guild you join see your display name, your role and your contributions to the guild's raids. Entrants in a tournament see your display name, hero and match results. Guild and tournament names are visible to everyone invited.
• Friends: people with your friend code can send you a friend request, and your friends can see your display name and progress in the app.
• Public Discord workout cards (opt-in): if you are in the Hall of Lifters and agree in the app to share workouts, each finished workout posts a card with your display name, hero, lifts and personal records to the public Menos Discord server, where anyone in that server can see it. You can turn this off at any time; leaving the Hall also turns it off. Cards already posted stay up until you ask us to remove them.
• Blocked players: if you block someone, they are hidden from you in the Hall of Lifters, your friends list and party invites.
• Reports: only the Menos team sees reports, including the alert in our private team channel (see Discord below). Other players never see who reported them.

Discord: Our Private Team Channel

We use private Discord channels that only Menos staff can see. They are not the public Menos Discord server. No alert contains your email address. We post these alerts there:

• New sign-up (when you finish setup): your name, if Apple gave us one; your user ID; your goal, hero class and units; and your sign-up source (your answer, or the name of the person who invited you).
• Unfinished sign-up (you signed in but did not finish setup within 24 hours): your name, if we have one; your user ID; and the time you signed in.
• Reports (when you report a player): the reporter's user ID, the reported player's display name and user ID, and up to 200 characters of the reason.
• Feedback: your first initial, a short part of your user ID, and the text you sent.
• Purchases, trials, renewals, cancellations, billing problems and promotional grants: your first initial, a short part of your user ID, the store, the product and the price, with a link to your RevenueCat customer record.
• Finished workouts: your first initial, a short part of your user ID, your hero class, whether it was a party or a duel, and how many exercises, sets and personal records it had and the total weight lifted.
• New friends (when two players become friends): each player's first initial and a short part of their user ID.

Discord stores these messages under its own policies. To have a message removed from our channel, email us and we will delete it.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Menos:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS), including CloudFront: cloud hosting, data storage, and delivery of the how-to exercise clips. Our servers are in the United States.
• Apple: Sign in with Apple, push notifications (APNs), in-app subscriptions, and Apple Health (HealthKit) if you turn it on. Health data stays on your device, as described above. Apple processes all payments; we never receive or store your payment card data.
• RevenueCat: processes your Menos Full subscription status (plan, free trial, renewals, cancellations, billing problems and expiry) and records your purchase history, entitlements (Menos Full and any legacy Menos Pro subscription) and your RevenueCat customer ID, so we know whether Menos Full is active on your account. Apple bills the subscription; RevenueCat never receives your payment card data. Menos previously sold an auto-renewing Menos Pro subscription (June 22 to July 27, 2026); RevenueCat also records that legacy status. Founder status is stored on our own servers.
• Firebase Crashlytics (Google): crash reports, described above. Menos does not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics or advertising tool.
• Discord: our private team channels, and the public Menos Discord server, for the Hall of Lifters top 100 and the workout cards you choose to share.
• Cloudflare: hosts the menosapp.com website. The website does not use analytics or advertising scripts, and invite pages read the code from the link without sending it anywhere. Our short links to the App Store (such as menosapp.com/ig) only add one to a daily total for that link; we store no IP address, device or browser details, cookies or anything else about the person who tapped it.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

Data Retention

We keep your personal information and workout data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, workouts, characters, friends, guild memberships, device tokens and other personal data from our live systems, except as described in Account Deletion below. Reports are kept for as long as we need them for safety review. Database backups expire after 35 days.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account in the app: open the Settings tab in the bottom strip, tap Delete Account, then tap DELETE to confirm. Deletion is permanent. We also revoke your Sign in with Apple authorization. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. If deletion cannot finish right away, the app tells you and you cannot sign in to the account while we finish it.

Deleting your account does this:

• Parties and duels: the party and duel rows you were in are kept so other members' history stays intact, but your name, sex, cosmetics and Founder status are removed and your name is replaced with "Deleted lifter." Your bodyweight is removed once that party or duel is over; while a duel is still running, it stays so the duel can finish. A join link you created for a party is deleted.
• Guilds: you leave every guild you joined. Guilds you own are deleted for all of their members.
• Tournaments: brackets you entered keep your entry (display name, hero and match results) so the other players' bracket stays complete.
• Reports and blocks: reports you filed, and reports filed about you, are kept for safety review, including any free-text reason, but your account ID is removed from them so they no longer point to you. The players you blocked are unblocked; players who blocked you see "Deleted lifter" in their list.
• Referrals: the person who referred you keeps their credit. The link to your deleted account is removed.
• Founder status: it ends permanently.
• Menos Full subscription: deleting your account does not cancel or refund an Apple subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID account settings (Settings > your name > Subscriptions) so you are not charged again.

Some records are not removed when you delete your account:

• Subscription and purchase records kept by Apple and RevenueCat, under their own policies and retention periods. We need them for refunds and Restore Purchases, and we cannot delete them.
• Backups: our database keeps point-in-time backups for 35 days, so deleted data can remain in backups until they expire. Backups are used only to recover from a failure.
• Crash reports in Firebase Crashlytics, which are not linked to your account and expire under Firebase's retention settings.
• Alerts already sent to our private Discord channels, which we delete on request.
• Public Discord workout cards you chose to post. Email us to have them removed.
• Apple Health: workouts and calories Menos saved to Apple Health stay on your device. We cannot reach them; delete them in the Health app.
• Copies that other players have already seen or saved, such as a party or duel result, are outside our control.

If you cannot delete your account in the app, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We usually handle these requests within one business day and always within 30 days. See Delete your account for details.

Your Rights and Choices

• Export: in the app, Export Workouts (CSV) on the Settings tab gives you a file of every completed set you have logged.
• Edit: you can change your profile, settings, sharing choices and notification preferences in the app at any time.
• Access, correction and deletion: email [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.
• No sale or targeted advertising: we do not sell your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
• European Economic Area and United Kingdom: we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the app); on the basis of your consent for optional items such as notifications, the Hall of Lifters, public Discord workout cards and health-related inputs, which you can withdraw at any time (for accounts created before October 8, 2026, which were added to the Hall at sign-up, we rely on our legitimate interest in running the Hall, including its top-100 board in the public Menos Discord server, until you answer the in-app question, and on your consent after that); and for our legitimate interests in security, abuse prevention, understanding how the app is used and keeping the service running. Our servers are in the United States, so your data is transferred there. You can complain to your local data protection authority.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit (TLS/HTTPS), encrypting sensitive credentials at rest, and restricting access to personal data to essential services only.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Menos is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will tell you in the app or by email. Continued use of Menos after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
