Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026
About This Policy
Menos App LLC ("we," "our," or "us") makes Menos, a weightlifting tracker inside a pixel-art RPG, for iPhone and Apple Watch. Some of what you tell Menos, and some of what Menos works out from your training, can be health information. Washington's My Health My Data Act and Nevada's consumer health data law (Nevada Senate Bill 370) call this "consumer health data" and give you specific rights over it. This policy explains what consumer health data Menos collects, why, where it comes from, who receives it, and how to use your rights.
We apply this policy to every Menos user, wherever you live. Our Privacy Policy covers everything else Menos collects and has more detail on each item.
Our Promises
- We never sell consumer health data.
- We never use it for advertising, and Menos shows no ads.
- We never share it with data brokers or with anyone for their own purposes.
- We use it only to run the features you use in Menos, as described below.
- We do not use location data and do not set up geofences.
Consumer Health Data We Collect
- Body information: your bodyweight, your age, your sex, and, if you entered it in an earlier version of Menos, your height.
- Injury areas: the body areas you choose to protect during setup (for example lower back, knees or shoulders). Choosing none is fine.
- Profile notes: any notes you add to your profile.
- Training goal and ability: your goal (such as strength or general health), your experience level, your equipment, your training days and session length, and the starting weights you give for your main lifts.
- Workout and fitness data: the exercises you do, sets, reps, weights, rest, effort feedback, personal records, workout history, workouts you import from Hevy or Strong, and workouts logged on Apple Watch or offline.
- Data Menos works out from your training: your next weights and training plan, strength estimates and charts, training streaks and goals, Training Insights (such as how your training is balanced and lifts that have stalled), the rarity of your post-workout chests, and your monthly recaps. These are fitness information, but we treat them as consumer health data because they describe your body and training.
Menos does not collect diagnoses, medications, reproductive or sexual health information, gender-affirming care information, biometric data, precise location, or heart rate.
Where It Comes From
- You: what you enter in setup, in your profile and while you train, on iPhone and Apple Watch.
- Apple Health, only if you ask: if you tap "Fill from Apple Health" during setup and allow it on Apple's screen, Menos reads your date of birth, sex and latest bodyweight once to fill in the setup form. Menos turns your date of birth into your age in whole years on your iPhone; the date itself never leaves your iPhone. You see and can change every value before you save, and nothing is sent until you finish setup.
- Files you import: workout history you choose to import from Hevy or Strong.
- Menos itself: the data Menos works out from your training, listed above.
Why We Collect and Use It
- Build and adjust your plan: your goal, experience, equipment, schedule, age, sex, bodyweight and starting weights set your plan and starting weights. Injury areas swap out exercises that load those areas.
- Track your training: save your workouts, calculate your next weights, show your history, records, charts and insights, and run streaks, goals, post-workout chests, achievements and recaps.
- Run the game with other people: duels and tournaments score lifts relative to bodyweight, and guild pound-for-pound boards use it.
- Keep Menos working: sync your workouts between your devices, keep the service secure, and fix problems.
We do not use consumer health data for any other purpose without asking you first.
Your Consent
We collect consumer health data only to provide the features you ask for in Menos: your plan, your workout tracking and the game features you use. What you choose to give is up to you:
- Injury areas, profile notes and the "Fill from Apple Health" button are optional.
- Apple Health is read only when you tap "Fill from Apple Health" and allow it on Apple's permission screen. The setup screen says, next to that button, that your weight is shown to duel opponents.
- The Hall of Lifters and public Discord workout cards are off until you turn them on.
You can withdraw consent at any time: change or remove your answers in your profile, turn off the Hall of Lifters or Discord workout cards in the Settings tab, turn off Menos in the Health app, or delete your account. Some features need some of this data to work (for example, duels need your bodyweight).
Who Receives It
Other Menos users, when you use features that show it:
- In a duel, after the fight, the other fighters see your bodyweight. Tournaments use your bodyweight for scoring.
- Party and duel members see your sessions in that party or duel. Guild members see your contributions to guild raids. Your friends see your progress.
- If you join the Hall of Lifters, other lifters see your level, XP and streak.
- If you turn on public Discord workout cards, each finished workout posts your lifts and personal records to the public Menos Discord server.
Service providers (processors) that run Menos for us, under contract, only to provide Menos:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): hosting and storage of your account and workouts, and our own usage statistics.
- Apple: push notifications (APNs). A notification about your training, such as a party or duel update, can include details of that workout.
Discord (our private team channel): when you finish a workout, our private team channel receives a short alert with your first initial, a short part of your user ID, your hero class, whether it was a party or a duel, how many exercises, sets and personal records it had and the total weight lifted. It never includes your full name, email, bodyweight, age, sex or injury areas.
RevenueCat (subscriptions) and Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports) do not receive consumer health data. We have no affiliates. We do not share consumer health data with anyone else unless the law requires it, for example to answer a valid legal request, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, where the buyer must keep this policy's promises.
Data That Stays on Your Device
Some health-related data never reaches us, so we do not collect it:
- Heart rate and calories: on Apple Watch, Menos reads your heart rate during a workout to measure the calories burned, and saves workouts and calories to Apple Health if you turn that on. Heart rate and calories never leave your devices and Apple Health.
- Body Log: bodyweight entries, tape measurements and progress photos in the Body Log are stored only on your iPhone. They are never uploaded to us.
Your Rights
You have these rights over your consumer health data:
- Access: confirm whether we collect, use or share your consumer health data, get a copy of it, and get a list of every third party and affiliate we have shared it with, with their contact details. In the App, Export Workouts (CSV) on the Settings tab gives you every completed set at any time, on every plan, including history your plan hides.
- Delete: delete your consumer health data. Delete Account on the Settings tab deletes your account and data at once. We also tell our service providers to delete it.
- Withdraw consent: as described under Your Consent.
- No discrimination: we will not treat you differently for using these rights.
To make a request, email boston@menosapp.com from the address on your Menos account, or with the user ID shown in the App, and say which right you want to use. We may ask you to confirm the request from inside the App so we know it is you. You can make two access requests a year at no charge. We reply within 45 days. If we need more time, up to 45 more days, we tell you why within the first 45 days.
When we delete your data, it is removed from our live systems at once. Copies in our database backups expire within 35 days. Some records are kept as the Privacy Policy describes under Account Deletion, such as purchase records Apple and RevenueCat keep, and party, duel, tournament and guild results other players still see, which keep no name.
Appeals
If we decline your request, we tell you why. You can appeal by replying to our answer or emailing boston@menosapp.com with the subject "Consumer health data appeal" within 60 days. We answer appeals within 45 days and explain the outcome. If we deny your appeal, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov/file-complaint, or the Nevada Attorney General at ag.nv.gov, or the consumer protection authority where you live.
Security
We encrypt data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and limit access to the people and services that need it to run Menos. Workouts you log offline are stored encrypted on your device until they sync.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we revise the effective date at the top of this page and tell you in the App about material changes. We will ask for your consent before we collect or share consumer health data in a new way that needs it.
