Getting started
What is Menos?
Menos is the lifting RPG: a real progressive-overload weightlifting tracker inside a pixel-art dungeon RPG. You log real sets, your plan picks the next weights, and every exercise is a boss you fight one set at a time.
Is Menos really free?
Yes. Logging, plans, progression, full history, Stats, co-op parties, duels, the Hall of Lifters, Upkeep and the Training Arena warm-ups are free forever. The plate and warm-up calculators, long-range strength charts, CSV export, the Hevy/Strong import, invites, fight clips and Wrapped are free too. Menos Full is an optional one-time $9.99 purchase for the game extras and for hosting guilds, tournaments and 8-player parties. Coming soon
What devices does Menos run on?
iPhone, on iOS 17 or later. There is no Android or web version, and no Apple Watch app yet.
How do I sign in?
With Sign in with Apple. If you choose to hide your email, Apple gives Menos a private relay address instead.
How old do I have to be?
You must be 18 or older to create an account.
Training and progression
How does Menos pick my weights?
The first session of a big lift ends with an ALL OUT last set, which calibrates your starting weight. After that it uses double progression: hit the top of the rep range on every set and the weight goes up next time; land inside the range and you hold; miss and you repeat. A second miss in a row deloads about 10%.
What do Too easy, Just right and Too hard do?
They tell your plan how a lift felt. Too easy jumps the weight at least two steps. Too hard holds the weight, and if you also missed reps it deloads right away instead of waiting for a second miss. Just right keeps normal progression.
What is a Tailor-Made plan?
A plan built from your goal (Strength, Build muscle, Endurance or General fitness), the days you can train (3 to 6), your equipment and any injuries. If you would rather write your own, use Build Your Plan.
Are there deload weeks?
Yes. Plans run in 6-week blocks, and week 6 is the deload week.
Can I swap an exercise?
Yes, any time. If you swap the same exercise for preference 3 times, the swap becomes permanent.
What happens if I take a break?
After about 2.5 weeks away, Menos offers to resume your block or restart it. A lift you have not done for 8 weeks or more comes back about 10% lighter.
Pounds or kilograms?
Either. Switch between lb and kg in Settings.
The game
How does a fight work?
Your workout is a dungeon map with one boss per exercise. Each set you log is an attack, with combos and exchanges playing out on screen. Finish your sets and the boss falls.
Who is the samurai?
The guardian samurai. When you overkill a set, he leaps in and blocks your bonus sets. They still count.
Which hero should I pick?
Heroes match goals: Warrior for strength, Berserker for building muscle, Ranger for endurance and Adventurer for general health. Free accounts run one hero; Menos Full puts all four side by side, and anyone already running more keeps them. Coming soon
Does paying make my hero stronger?
No. Menos Full is looks and tools only, never stats or XP.
Friends and co-op
How does a co-op party work?
Up to 4 lifters train together live, and kills are shared. Hosting and joining are both free.
How do duels work?
Duels are scored pound for pound: 1 rep at your bodyweight is worth 100 damage, so lifters of any size can compete. Hosting and joining are free.
What is the Hall of Lifters?
An opt-in leaderboard. It ranks lifters by consecutive-week streak, then by XP. You only appear if you join.
What is Upkeep?
Phone reminders for muscle groups you have let go dusty.
Switching from Hevy or Strong
Can I bring my Hevy or Strong history?
Yes. Export a CSV from Hevy or Strong and import it into Menos. Exercises are matched to the Menos catalog, so your PRs and charts come with you. In Hevy, the export is at Profile > Settings > Export & Import Data > Export Data. Coming soon
How is Menos different from Hevy?
Hevy is a social workout log on iPhone, Android, watches and the web. Menos runs on iPhone only, picks your next weight for free, and turns each session into a boss fight with co-op and duels. The full side-by-side is at Menos vs Hevy.
How is Menos different from Strong?
Strong is a focused logger on iPhone, Android and Apple Watch, with Apple Health support. Strong PRO charges for charts and the plate and warm-up calculators; in Menos they are free, and your plan picks the next weight. The full side-by-side is at Menos vs Strong. Coming soon
What will I miss?
There is no Apple Watch app yet, no Android or web version, and no Apple Health sync.
Do I have to play the game?
No. Logging Mode turns Dungeon Mode off and gives you a plain logger with the same plan and progression.
